👩🏽💼 Before I got to school research, I did some Self-Reflection to really identify why I wanted to go to business school and what I wanted to get out of my experience. Then, I spent a ton of time researching different programs to figure out which ones would be the best fit for me.

Researching Schools
- Since I was researching schools in 2020, on-campus visits were not an option. But, this meant that schools were having many, many more webinars and live virtual events. Admissions officers were also spending less time traveling across the world to be at in-person events, so they had more time to take phone calls and respond to emails. 😇
- I talked to soooo many business school students and alum. Some people may find this a waste of time, but this was a critical component of my business school application process since I was so interested in finding the right community and the right fit.
- Many schools have lots of different ways to get to know them. Look the schools up on Youtube. Listen to the student podcasts. Look up their alum on LinkedIn.
- MLT assignments helped me structure my school research. The MLT network also helped me connect with folks from other schools that I may not have known much about.
- If you feel like there are not as many people in your direct network you can talk to, many schools also have dedicated student ambassadors who are more than happy to hop on the phone to tell you about their experiences. You can also try sending some cold LinkedIn messages!
My List
I ultimately decided to apply to GSB, Northwestern - Kellogg, University of Michigan - Ross, University of California, Berkeley - Haas, and Yale SOM.
